Database Disk Management System
Question: Discuss about theDatabase Disk Management System. Answer: Introduction Storing data efficiently in a disk by the database administrator. The database administrator is responsible to design an efficient database storage since the airways flight company is meant to offer services to its clients, this call for this company to keep record of various flights made for easy retrieval of customers record and for easy management. (F.Ben ,2011,200). The company will need to buy computer systems for storing their records, about customers , planes, pilots and staffs . The database will be protected using three levels namely. User layer level , where user enters the passwords and username. Application layer level, this is the interface between the user and databases. And database level. This represents the database storage of records. There are various methods to use while trying to improve the data storage these includes: Managing enterprise data storage more efficiently. This is where scripts are used to store data ,however the data is also stored in cloud space and it reduces the operation cost. Reduplications and compression cut storage down to size. This is where the compression and duplication of data is used to reduce on data size this will save on space and money. Tiered storages. This uses the internal and external storage and utilizes goals of information lifecycle management . Improving power efficiency in archiving hardware and on primary storage .This helps to save in costs ,but more capital will be used to get this facilities ,this will pray great role in terms of backup saving of power.(Nathan, 125). Vacancy on Flight 243 by end-User. The end-user will be liable of records storage where the flight record is saved in the computer storage in various forms this records will be stored in hierarchical order or sequential order ,however it can be stored in databases where the databases will record each vacancy using a unique primary key. How a relation is stored as a sequential file by designer of database. The designer of database is responsible of setting the relation of files stored sequentially ,however when files are organized as records in a certain sequence in logical way ,they are mapped into a computer disk in form of blocks ,therefore files are given as contractions of operating system. (G.Joel,2013,59). These sequential files are arranged in order which is sorted ,where a search key is used ,which is same as the primary key. Number of times user allowed to mistype password before conversation is terminated ,by use designer of management system software. The designer of management system software will set and given restrictions of access to system by the users such that they require a unique password to access the system the system will terminate in case the user ,enters the wrong passwords almost four times ,which will be only be reset by system administrators only.
